Among the five nominees in the feature film category are the sports drama Futni mentem, the smash-hit musical romantic comedy Hogyan tudnék élni nélküled?, the crime thriller Ma este gyilkolunk, the historical epic Most vagy soha!, and the light-hearted Véletlenül írtam egy könyvet..
The competition also features a strong line-up of TV films with love stories and historical themes, including Ők tudják, mi a szerelem, Királytalálkozó, Lepattanó, Széchenyi és az utolsó éjszakai látogató, and Ványa bácsi – Buborékkeringő, a free adaptation of Chekhov’s drama.
In the TV series category, three films were nominated: the three-time Olympic champion men’s water polo team’s A nemzetaranyai, Úton Eperjes Károllyal, the portrait series On the Road with Károly Eperjes, the portrait series Csendhez szokott szív, and the TV series S.E.R.E.G.
A dallamok, akik vagyunk – A Hallgató, Elbocsátott légió, Fénnyel írt terek, Hősnők és a Változó vadon are the best films in the short documentary category. In contrast, in the short feature category, the nominees include Az utolsó lélek az ördögé, Boldog emberek, Egy szelet sült, Ha átkelsz majd a nagy hegyen and Kecskeének
Among the feature-length documentaries, the most notable are A boldogság ügynöke, A legpompásabb emberielme, the DAC film, which deal with scientific and social issues. Kell egy oroszlán and KIX are related to children’s literature and youth culture.
Five films are in the running for the Best Animated Feature: Cipők és paták, Janó manó, János bátya, Kutyafül and Utolsó dobás.
The awards will be decided again this year by a five-member jury of professionals chaired by Anikó Für. The winners will be announced at the closing event of the MOZ.GO, the awards ceremony on 21 June will be broadcast live on M5 channel. The event will once again provide an opportunity to spotlight Hungarian cinema’s latest and most remarkable works.
