Since 2014 the Hungarian Film Academy has organized the Hungarian Film Week on a yearly basis. During the Film Week filmmakers and audiences have the opportunity to see all feature films, television films, documentaries, short feature films, animations, and informative films which were nominated for the Hungarian Film Awards. The Academy receives help from the Hungarian National Film Fund and the Hungarian National Media and Info-communications Authority in organizing the Film Week.

The nominated films for the Hungarian Film Awards are selected works from the previous year. Film professionals and audiences can see these movies in their own category, which are selected according to their genre. The Hungarian Film Awards serves as the closing ceremony of the Film Week.
